MHMic — Microphone and Headset (Updated)

MHMic — Microphone and Headset (Updated)

by Kosobrazik

Description

AboutMHMic restores headset behavior from the PS2 release of Manhunt to the PC version. Speaking loudly enough into your microphone creates noise through the game’s native hearing system. Hunters may hear it and investigate. Microphone noise does not attract enemies while menus are open or the game is paused.

Features
Four speech loudness tiers, from quiet speech to shouting.
Automatic calibration and background noise filtering.
Optional push-to-talk activation.
Native radar feedback for emitted microphone noise.
Separate microphone, game audio and Director voice device choices.
In-game microphone and playback tests.
Radar feedback does not enable the radar on Hardcore or override the game’s HUD settings.

Controls and Settings
The HEADSET page lets you choose devices and adjust microphone and Director volume. Game sounds can play through speakers while the Director speaks through headphones.

Confirm saves changes; Cancel restores the previous settings. Microphone and Director output changes apply immediately. Main game audio also switches immediately from the main menu; changes made from a level’s pause menu require saving and restarting.
Select a row and press V to test it. A compatible ManhuntGInput also provides right-stick testing through R3/RS. Press the button again to stop. Playback tests use the left, right and both channels.

Language selection, MHLL translations and advanced options are configured in MHMic.ini. Automatic selection, Russian, English and external UTF-8 translations are supported.

Requirements and Installation
Requires Manhunt for Windows, a microphone and a 32-bit ASI loader.Install the ASI and INI together in the game folder or scripts, then copy data into the game directory. Open headset settings after starting the game. See README_RU_ENG.txt for details.

Compatibility and Limitations
Director audio can be sent to a USB-connected DualSense or DualShock 4. Bluetooth audio output is not supported.ManhuntGInput is optional. A compatible build provides controller navigation, R3/RS testing and Cross/A prompts for the headset notice. Keyboard users confirm the notice with Enter.

Bug Reports
Enable Log=1 under [Debug], reproduce the issue and save MHMic.log before launching again, as each launch overwrites it. Restore Log=0 afterwards.
